PUNK ROCK BINGO PRESS RELEASE

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

LAS VEGAS, July 20, 2004 -- On Monday, August 2 celebrate the First Anniversary of Punk Rock Bingo by NOT playing Bingo with Poizen Ivy and the Bargain DJ Collective at the Double Down Saloon, 4640 Paradise Road.

It was fun while it lasted, but the Gaming Control Board has made it clear that we cannot offer free bingo for crappy prizes any longer. Following this show please remove this event from your calendar. The Bargain DJ Collective will continue with "Branded" every Monday.

The Anniversary Party will feature LA indie-rockers The Kite-Eating Tree (www.thekiteeatingtree.com) and unfortunately we can't even raffle off leftover prizes because we can't risk the undercover agents (that we know will be there checking up on us) misconstruing anything.

NRS 463.0152 “Game” and “gambling game” defined.
“Game” or “gambling game” means any game played with cards, dice, equipment or any mechanical, electromechanical or electronic device or machine for money, property, checks, credit or any representative of value, including, without limiting the generality of the foregoing, faro, monte, roulette, keno, bingo, fan-tan, twenty-one, blackjack, seven-and-a-half, big injun, klondike, craps, poker, chuck-a-luck, Chinese chuck-a-luck (dai shu), wheel of fortune, chemin de fer, baccarat, pai gow, beat the banker, panguingui, slot machine, any banking or percentage game or any other game or device approved by the Commission, but does not include games played with cards in private homes or residences in which no person makes money for operating the game, except as a player, or games operated by charitable or educational organizations which are approved by the Board pursuant to the provisions of NRS 463.409.

I guess according to this we were operating an illegal/unliscensed bingo game, even though it was free and our items of "value" were things like plastic squirt guns and horror movie promo posters. And if you read this as I did, only games played with cards in private homes are excluded... so technically I guess I can't play Bingo at home either.

We will all be wearing "Got Lube?" shirts from our Bingo sponsor ID Lube, since we feel we got screwed, but at Moss' request we are trying to keep our "protest" low-key.

All may not be lost for Punk Rock Bingo though. We may have found another location that can work with us and are figuring out what we can do.

Sponsors and supporters of PUNK ROCK BINGO include BowlingShirt.com, ID Lubricants, Hollywood Book and Poster, Big Lizard Records, Poizen Ideas, SinCitySounds.com, and, of course, the Double Down Saloon.

PUNK ROCK BINGO's Bingo-less First Anniversary Party starts at 10pm. It's 21+ and it's free.

We hope to see you all there.
